Michele Sommers, Owner/Operator aka ‘Mama Joe’ is a native Springfieldian and mosquito magnet extraordinaire. Michele loves hanging outside with family and friends, but unfortunately (before Mosquito Joe came to save the day), mosquitoes would end up crashing the party every time. Having grown up in a family-owned business, along with her 20+ years in corporate life, Michele knew Mosquito Joe was the perfect business for her family due to the company’s fierce commitment to customer service and of course, making outside fun again! In her spare time, Michele enjoys biking downtown to the farmer’s market, traveling, and gardening in her itch-free backyard.
Jeff Sommers, Owner aka ‘Archi Joe’ is a native of Maine…and if anyone knows mosquitoes, it’s a Mainer! Jeff grew up keeping bees with his dad and helping with the family garden (more like a small farm, really). This is why he’s Michele’s right-hand Joe in the field. You can find Jeff training technicians how to safely treat for those pesky mosquitoes, ticks and fleas, while respecting our pollinating friends and their food. Jeff is a licensed architect and has been running his own practice since 2003. He loves the fact that Mosquito Joe provides a solution to help folks enjoy the outdoor living spaces that they work hard to create. In his spare time, Jeff loves hiking, biking, golf and playing basketball with his Mini Joes.
Ethan and Leo, aka ‘Mini Joes’ love playing basketball. They wait all winter until the weather finally breaks, so that they can get outside, run around and shoot hoops. Unfortunately, mosquitoes often sent Leo running for the indoors, leaving Ethan outside, alone. But now that they can enjoy a swat-free yard, their basketball skills are increasing exponentially and should lead to an eventual career in the NBA. Needless to say, they’re thrilled about Mosquito Joe and love sharing the MoJo by walking neighborhoods and sharing how outside really can be fun again!
